About
Hi. I’m Jen. I create colorful fabric mosaics that reflect the spirit, whimsey and soul of animals.

As a kid growing up in Virginia, I always had some kind of art project in the works. This continued throughout a rewarding career in workforce development in North Carolina during which I felt the continuous pull of my creative roots. In 2021, I decided to change career course and devote my full attention to the creative process.
Animals have always been a constant in my life and heart--from pets to outside critters, those on the farm, in the water, woods or desert. I have also been fascinated by the incredible variety of textiles--their colors, textures and versatility—and have used them in my creative endeavors. And so, it was a natural evolution to start making art that meshed my love for animals with fabric.
My original pieces and customized portraits honor the uniqueness of our animal friends, resulting in pieces that I hope you will find energizing and joyful!
My work has been shown in various galleries in North Carolina and is in numerous private collections. I’m a member of the Durham Art Guild.
I live with my husband, Jeff and our hilarious pittie, Gretchen in Durham, North Carolina.

I like to think of my process as painting with fabric! It involves layering hundreds of individually cut pieces of fabric onto a canvas. The fabric is carefully selected and placed to reflect the look and personality of the animal, as well as its environment. Once arranged, I secure the materials in place to create a tactile, organic look and feel.

P.S. I am pleased to donate 10% of the sales price of each piece to two of my favorite animal charities: Animal Protection Society of Durham and Richmond Animal League.
